The success of FlowerFest in 2019

How wonderful to bring together a successful second year with FlowerFest19.

Firstly, a heartfelt thanks to all the hardworking volunteers who make this event possible.  From loyal friends to new acquaintances, to young florists to experienced talents, from the admin to the tea making support, I thank you all.

This year we had new sponsors on board along with companies who were happy to participate for a second year. Without your contributions as sponsors FlowerFest would be unable to run.  Finding funding is a huge task. As we are not a recognised charity ourselves, (but will continue to support and raise awareness of local charities) grants/ funds are hard to come by, & so the finances provided by the sponsors are vital to the costs of flowers, marketing, publishing and costs of licenses. The work behind the scenes is taken on a voluntary basis and as many of you will know from organising other local events in Christchurch, it is a full time commitment.  If anyone would like to help move FlowerFest forward with financial support to grow this event then please do get in touch.

The weather at FF19 was a challenge. A particular thanks to HP Music for still singing with their talented students and the Southbourne Community Choir with their enthusiasm and wonderful songs. Thank you to you the local community, and visitors who came along regardless of the huge winds and variable weather,(although even in August the Great British weather will remain in charge).  Please take a peep at what FlowerFest19 was about and it goes without saying please do get in touch if you would like to learn more and be involved with FlowerFest

Thank you

FlowerFest19 have been delighted to work with Barry and his team promoting and supporting the Macmillan Caring Locally Brick by Brick Appeal. Whose continued aim is to fund a new unit within Christchurch Hospital, for cancer patients and those requiring palliative care.

The new build will also incorporate a restful

and peaceful garden design.

FlowerFest19 has currently raised just under £4000 donated from net profits of our second year, keep buying the FF19 Gin Liqueur and continue to help them!

And thank you for these kind words from..

Lin Sharp, Capital Appeal Director  who said

'I just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and your team for such an amazing event and for choosing the Brick by Brick Appeal (Plant by Plant ) as the charity for 2019, thank you from all at Macmillan Caring Locally and we look forward to seeing FlowerFest bloom.

Barry Wilson Community & Events Fundraiser said 'It has been an absolute pleasure working with you and seeing all the hard work and dedication you put into making FlowerFest a success.  From start to finish I was so impressed with not only you, but your volunteers, & especially your sidekick!!!   (you know who you are!)
